Learning

Education At Temple Beth El

Jewish learning is an exciting endeavor that continues throughout our lives. Our goal at Temple Beth El of South Orange County is to educate both children and adults in the beliefs and practices of Judaism so that they will feel passion and pride in being Jewish. As such, we promote an educational climate in which each individual can discover and cultivate his or her own strong and lasting Jewish identity.

Our Early Childhood Center (ECC) offers programming for children two months through five years of age, including My Grown Up and Me, and preschool.

Our nationally recognized Religious School provides education from K to 12th grade including level-based Hebrew learning, fun, hands-on Judaic studies, and our First Friday Shabbat Festivals!

Our Adult Education programs include myriad opportunities for increasing your knowledge, expanding your horizons, or simply meeting new people.

Shalom!  Welcome to Temple Beth El SOC Early Childhood Center where learning is fun!

At Temple Beth El SOC Early Childhood Center we believe that children learn best when they are in a warm, nurturing, loving and safe environment. We believe that parents, teachers, administrators and clergy are a community working together to best serve the needs of each child in the program. Our program provides a dynamic and creative, developmentally appropriate curriculum focusing on the whole child while preparing them for their future education. Our goal is to nurture and strengthen the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of each child. We integrate Judaic curriculum throughout the day so that children will develop a love of Judaism, an understanding of Jewish values, and a positive Jewish identity. We aim to provide children in our program opportunities to be actively engaged both inside and outside the classroom in order to develop the skills and self-esteem to become lifelong learners.

The Aron and Sala Samueli Center for Jewish Learning

TBESOC believes that a powerful Jewish learning experience is one that builds connection,
inspires a thirst for more information, and is relevant to the learner’s life. As a team of
educators, we will strive to provide these experiences for our students each and every time
we gather. We are delighted to share a few highlights of the coming year:

  • All students, K-12, will come together Monday afternoons from 4:30-6:30pm.
  • Hands-on, fun, interactive models of teaching and learning will be implemented such as
  • cooking, building with LEGO, visual arts, and gamification.
  • Level based Hebrew learning that will take place online or in-person.
  • Detailed and expanded Judaic studies curriculum with clear and articulated expectations
  • for learning outcomes.
